Hey loves!

I am “Laydee Queen”, best known as Sherri Queen, the founder and editor in chief of The Natural Queen.

I was born and raised in Charleston, South Carolina. As a child, straight hair had always been taught to me. My cousins and I would anxiously wait for the weekends when our Aunties would “hook us up”. Honey, she was prepared! She had her Blue Magic hair grease and a hot comb on the stove- those were the days!

As I got older and became “grown” enough to do my own hair, I was introduced to the “creamy crack”. From a teenage girl until about three years ago my hair was relaxed every 8 weeks.

I decided to return natural by way of transitioning and with the help and advice of my friends, Nerissa McKinnie and Tiffany Hall. S/O to you two!! I love you girls! I transitioned for about two years. I started wearing my hair completely natural in May 2012. I started this blog to help educate naturals and aspiring naturals, and also to learn more along my journey.

I am married to my biggest supporter and the man of my dreams, Mr. Quincy Queen and we are currently residing in Sierra Vista, Arizona.
